However, there are plants (some native like cacti) which can still flourish in the Mojave desert. For example, plants like cacti, aloe, mesquite trees (messy but beautiful), bay laurel, and agave adapt well to our arid climate.
These plants thrive with minimal water and provide a natural, cohesive look.
Gravel and Rock: Replace traditional lawns with gravel, pebbles, or decomposed granite to reduce water consumption and maintenance.

Some of my clients want tons of rock and minimal plants and greenery while others are looking for a lush green garden while also maintaining water efficiency–and others look for a mixture of both.
