Summer Las Vegas Watering Schedule & Rules 2025

By Modern Landscape

Honestly, summer here is no joke. Even when you’re following the rules, getting your plants enough water without overdoing it can be tricky. Here are some tips that have helped my clients keep their landscapes healthy without wasting water:

  • 🌅 Water Early: Set your system to water before sunrise. It’s the coolest part of the day, which means less evaporation and more moisture reaching your plants.
  • 💧 Use Drip Systems: For anything that isn’t grass, drip irrigation is your best friend. It delivers water right to the roots, where it’s needed most.
  • 🔧 Check for Leaks: Las Vegas heat can crack and damage sprinkler heads, so make it a habit to inspect your system regularly. A tiny leak can waste a ton of water.
  • 📲 Go Smart: Consider upgrading to a smart irrigation controller. These systems automatically adjust your watering schedule based on the weather, which is a game changer.

Not Sure When You’re Supposed to Water?

Don’t worry, you’re not alone.

Las Vegas has specific watering groups based on your address, and knowing your assigned days can make a world of difference. You can find your specific watering days using the LVVWD’s Find Your Watering Days tool.
